About LDR Law
Learn more about Leslie Robinson – Owner and Lawyer at LDR Law, and how he infuses his unique work experience to assist clients in navigating the complex legal landscape and secure a long-term future for their families and financials.
How I Help
Leslie’s primary practice involves helping clients with residential real estate transactions, estate planning, and family law. To provide flexible and convenient service, Leslie meets with clients when it works for them, not just during 9-5. Life is busy, and you should not have to work around the lawyer’s schedule when you have a lot on your plate.
Leslie has a particular passion and sensitivity towards incapacity planning. Leslie has been caregiving for his parents for over 20 years. His mother was diagnosed with a rare spinal cord disease, which left her unable to walk. Along with her physical decline has been a cognitive decline which presents as dementia. His father experienced several strokes and is now in a nursing home. This has given Leslie deep insight into the roles and challenges that come when someone loses capacity.
Experience in Social Work & Estate Administration
Before entering the world of law, Leslie developed a comprehensive work history as a social worker and in real estate administration.
As a social worker, Leslie completed a practicum at the end of life care and addiction treatment before working for a significant mental health agency. He holds a B. A (Hons) from the University of Toronto and a Law degree from The University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law.
Legal Experience
While in law school, Leslie focused his course work on wills and estates, real estate, family law, and tax courses. Leslie completed a tax litigation internship with a top tiered Ottawa-based business law firm, summered with real estate and criminal firms, competed in various moots and negotiation competitions, and worked as a legal writing coach for the Faulty of Law before articling for a busy real estate, family, and estates firm.
Upon being called to the Ontario bar, Leslie worked for a cross-border tax firm practicing estate planning, tax, and family litigation for high-net-worth individuals. He co-appeared before the superior court of justice on a variety of family matters and also gained more profound knowledge about both Canadian and U.S. taxation systems.
